Sitemaps located in a sub-directory only be valid for URLs in that sub-directory.

Search Console indexed pages in Sitemaps uses exact URLs, so variations including www/non-www, trailing slash variations, etc, won’t be reported as indexed.

If you are using a CDN, you can add this to Search Console.

A canonical tag on content shared on another domain should consolidate backlink authority on the original URL.
Multiple Links on a Page Count Once for PageRank
Multiple links from one page to another are only counted once for PageRank, even if the anchor text is different. John is vague on the impact of the separate anchor text.
Don’t Use Aggregate Review on Category Pages
Aggregate review markup should be applied to one specific item, so shouldn’t be used on category pages.
